Position Summary
The Global Consumer Insights Field Research Analyst will be responsible for learning and maintaining our innovation/product concept testing content and developing reports based on testing performance. This teammate will partner cross-functionally with product development (CPO), brand management, and Go to Market (GTM) team members to provide guidance through the product development and launch process. Additionally, this teammate will collaborate with the Global Athlete Performance team and UA Next Team to capture qualitative “field” insights (observation and impromptu inquiry) during athlete engagements and curating findings concise reports for various stakeholders across UA. This role will report to our Principal, Consumer Insights – Innovation and Product in Portland, OR. The role will be remote, as it will also have responsibilities in Baltimore, MD as well as travel to events and partner schools for qualitative observation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Partners with Principal, Consumer Insights – Innovation and Product, to collect and test new product ideas/concepts.
Collaborate with innovation and GTM teams to develop and submit ideas/concepts into the testing process with innovation and GTM timelines in mind.
Work with 3rd party vendors to occasionally modify the methodology of each test to include the appropriate benchmark KPIs and meet the learning needs of the team.
Create presentations to synthesize key concept testing results and identify potential areas of improvement in product design and/or communication.
Support development of Athlete Insight repository, through observation and field interviews.
Develop structure and interaction cadence/logistics for Team Sport Advisory Panel, which will serve to help identify trends and obtain reactions to UA initiatives.
Work closely with the Under Armour teammates across functions and categories to turn insights into actions.
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Proven self-starter, strong desire to understand ATHLETE’s attitudes, motivations, and unmet needs at a deep level. Previous experience within marketing is preferred.
Excellent communication skills: both written and verbal. comfortable with delivering recommendations and building presentations for both senior and junior teammates within the organization
Solid analytical skills: the ability to read and interpret data from multiple sources and deliver actionable insights
Experience as an athlete/coach/trainer a plus as direct interaction with athletes of all levels will be a requirement.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (including Pivot tables) and PowerPoint
Basic knowledge of survey tools/platforms (e.g. Qualtrics)
Basic understanding of statistics
General understanding of the UA brand and history or interest in the brand is valuable given this role will be assisting in larger marketing and brand strategy initiatives.
Education And / Or Experience
BS/BA in marketing, communications, analytics, psychology, or a similar field
Graduate/Master’s degree a plus
Experience in interviewing/observing consumers/athletes desired
