The successful candidate will develop and optimize electrochemical systems for a variety of electro-metallurgy applications including metallic deposition, electrochemical redox stripping, electrophoretic separations, and electrochemical processing just to name a few. Knowledge and a working background in electrochemical processes in non-aqueous (e.g. ionic liquid or molten salt) systems are strongly desired.
Postdoctoral Research Associates work independently, they are a strong asset to an established R&D team to achieve specific project/program targets and goals on multiple projects within the same area of study. They are self-motivated but also take direction from other team members and peers. The role entails writing scientific manuscripts for journal publication, project reports and proposals as well as preparing presentations of research results and presenting them at national/international conferences/workshops/meetings. Demonstrated oral and published written communication skills (in English). Must be completed by time the appointment begins and/or within the previous five years.
A developing publication record.
Demonstrated experience in electrochemistry, electrodeposition of metals, from fundamental understanding of reduction/nucleation processes to process optimization (scale up) and production of electrodeposits with desirable composition and material properties.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with electroanalytical (CV, CA, EIS) and surface characterization (XPS, XRD, SEM) techniques are desired.
Experiences/skills in either electrocatalysis, spectro-electrochemistry, and/or computational/theoretical analysis are desired.
Job Information:
Salary Grade: $95,004 annually
Chosen applicants are required to show a demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
