DescriptionUnder the direction of the Insights Manager, the Research Specialist is responsible for meticulous, detail-oriented planning and execution of research projects for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians (SMBMI). The Research Specialist utilizes their innate curiosity and passion in data to gain a better insight into human behavior. This position is responsible for collecting, sorting, and analyzing San Manuel Casino guest data, in addition to sourcing, developing, executing, and interpreting their aggregated findings for research projects.Essential Duties & Responsibilities1. Leads the operational logistics of research projects through their full lifecycle; creating proposals according to strategic objectives, contracting, building timelines, execution, processing results and socialization of findings. 2. Conducts focus groups by sourcing internal populations, leading discussions and communicating the results.3.  Processes research data collection results from both third party and first party utilizing Qualtrics.  Analyzes and evaluates research results using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Statistical Analysis Software (SAS) or Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS).4. Manages external vendor relationships in addition to soliciting quotes for outsourced services, monitoring the contract process, and managing documentation, projects, and budgets.5.  Supports the Insights Manager as well as guides, trains, and advises other members of the Insights team.6.  Communicates research findings and provides relevant and actionable insight to stakeholders for decision-making regarding identified needs and opportunities; identifies and uses appropriate tools to convey information including data visualization utilizing tools such as Tableau.7.  Proposes techniques to improve research quality and team productivity, as needed.8.  Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.RequirementsEducation/Experience/QualificationsnBachelors degree in related field is required.nMasters degree is preferred.nMinimum of four (4) years related experience is required.nEquivalent combination of education and progressive, relevant and direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational/experience requirements indicated above.nMust possess advanced written and verbal communication skills in both an informational and persuasive method.nMust have advanced knowledge of data collection methods (i.e. polls, focus groups, surveys, etc.)nDemonstrated mastery in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required.nMust be highly proficient in data visualization software (i.e. Tableau).nHighly organized with strong strategic prioritization, planning and time management skills including the ability to react with appropriate levels of urgency to situations and events where a quick response or turnaround is required.nMust be adaptable to a varied schedule and have the ability to multi-task with a positive can-do attitude.nExperience with Adobe Illustrator and an eye for design is preferred.nCertificates/Licenses/RegistrationsAt the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.San Manuel Band of Mission Indians and San Manuel Casino will make reasonable accommodations in compliance with applicable law. As one of the largest private employers in the Inland Empire, San Manuel deeply cares about the future, growth and well-being of its employees.
